GRADUATE COURSES:

1- EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT DESIGN

The main objective of this module is to introduce the students to the fundamental concepts and principles required for the seismic design of RC and masonry structures. The overall aim is to enable the student to develop an understanding of the seismic response of concrete and masonry materials, components and systems under earthquake loading conditions. This knowledge can then be applied in practical earthquake resistant design of frame and wall systems according to modern code regulations, with particular emphasis on the Turkish Earthquake Code and Eurocode 8 .

Course Coordinator

2 – STRUCTURAL DYNAMICS

The primary objective of this course is to provide an in-depth understanding of the structural dynamics and practical applications in calculations required for the design of structures loading. While the analysis techniques and design philosophies are often applicable to generic extreme loadings, the majority of the course is to focus on methods most appropriate for seismic analysis and design.
